Established in the summer of 2019, The Margaret Home offers a broad range of services and resources to pregnant women and moms in need. These include parenting and life skills training as well as access to educational opportunities with a degree- or certificate-based providers. The Margaret Home also provides on-the-job training in real employment situations to enhance their skills and prepare them for sustainable careers. Another component of the skills-building program is entrepreneurial training designed to give mothers of young children marketable skills they can use in local small businesses.
The Margaret Home also provides stable housing for up to two years for homeless pregnant women or moms, or those in unstable housing situations. Like all other elements of TMH’s program, this is provided at no cost. To be eligible a woman must be 18 or older, pregnant or parenting, free from substance dependency or in a recovery program, and free of severe diagnosed mental illness.
